The future is looking bright for Blacktown Storm with another MJL Season completed
Here we are again, at the end of another Basketball NSW Waratah Metro Junior League (MJL) Season. We started with 15 teams and last weekend at the MJL Grand Final, we headed over to Hills Basketball Stadium to cheer on the three remaining Blacktown Storm teams as they competed for the 2026 title. Firstly, we would like to thank everyone involved in the 2026 MJL Season; players, coaches, managers, admin staff, referees, parents and supporters. We would never make it through a season without all the dedication from our community.
Congratulations to our three finalist teams, U16 Girls Gold, U12 Girls Purple and U12 Boys Gold. The opportunity to play on the biggest stage is an achievement of the hard work and dedication these players put into their season. It is with such great pleasure that after the weekend’s games, we can call Blacktown Storm the 2026 U12 Girls Division 2 Champions and the U12 Boys Division 4 Champions.

U12 Girls Purple defeated Bankstown Bruins White 33-31
Most Valuable Player awarded to Alysia Solberg
U12 Boys Gold defeated St George Saints Red 77-68
Most Valuable Player awarded to Nathan Dwayne Mallari
U16 Girls Gold lost to Bankstown Bruins Sky 60-81

The Blacktown Storm Junior season is not over yet! Your U14 Boys Purple will be competing in the Basketball NSW State Championships this weekend in Newcastle. Followed by the BNSW State Cup on the 8th and 9th of August which will be featuring your U18 Boys Purple and U12 Girls Purple. More details to come.
