• Be a part of our community Progress through referee development pathway, from local domestic competitions through to representative, state and even national levels.

• Meet the Requirements 

  • Be at least 13 years old. 

  • Be willing to learn, listen to feedback, and work as part of a team.

• Complete a Submit an Expression of Interest form

  • CBBA recruits approximately 15 new referees at the beginning of each Domestic Winter/Summer Competition season. 

  • Successful applicants will be invited to attend: C1 Course

•  Complete C1 Referee Course

  • Complete Etrainu Self‑Paced Online E‑Learning Modules

  • Attend a C1 Referee In Person Workshop

• Start Refereeing 

  • Once you've completed your initial training, you will be sent a link to join RefBook when you have joined Refbook, you'll begin officiating junior domestic competition games with support from experienced referees and supervisors. 

As your confidence and skills grow, you'll referee more games and progress through the CBBA referee pathway.

CBBA hosts games all year round:

• CBBA Local Basketball League runs during the School Terms Monday to Friday at Stanhope, Emerton and Mt Druitt

• Blacktown Storm Junior Home Games are held on Sundays during the season (March to July) at Mt Druitt

• Other opportunities:

  • CBBA School Tournaments

  • Representative Pre-Season/Post Season

  • Ad-hoc tournaments around Sydney, Central Coast and South Coast
