The 2026 CBBA Winter League is growing on history
Now as we almost finalise the third week of the 2026 CBBA Winter League, we wanted to share our excitement with the continued growth across basketball participation in the City of Blacktown region.
The City of Blacktown Basketball Association has worked hard to administrate the constant growth of our domestic competitions spanning across both sides of the LGA - from staffing changes seeing Sam Poole take over the Competition Coordinator Role, to continuing to strengthen the partnerships with our venues, the numbers speak for themselves.
The 2026 CBBA Winter League season features 170 teams, +21 from 25/26 Summer, made up of over 1220 athletes across 31 divisions! Changes to this season introduced an Under 8s to accompany the Under 10s divisions, which has been modified to a 3×3 basketball format to better help young ballers learn spacing, teamwork and basketball fundamentals stronger than before.
CBBA also introduced the Under 12s Girls competition at Stanhope on Wednesdays, with the hopes of continuing to expand the number of Under 12 Girls teams at KBS as well - allowing for a stronger pathway for both genders to play team basketball.
Finally, one of the most exciting aspects of the 2026 CBBA Winter League season is the partnership with Glory League - the automated video system that provides professional quality full-game videos, highlight reels and stats - at both Kevin Betts Stadium and Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope. As CBBA and Glory League continue to develop and fine-tune the software, we are excited to have this game-changing feature across our competition venues.
Make sure to come down to Kevin Betts Stadium on a Monday, Thursday and Friday, and Blacktown Leisure Centre on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to see the 2026 CBBA Winter League taking place - and check out all the stats, ladders, and draws on BasketballConnect below:
