Your Storm Juniors make a statement at the 2025 BNSW State Cup
Another jam-packed weekend for your Blacktown Storm Juniors! The annual Basketball NSW Junior State Cup wrapped up the Junior Rep season on the South Coast over the weekend (August 9–10), and we were stoked to have FOUR of our teams hitting the court for the tournament.
Storm was repping strong in the U14 Boys, U14 Girls, U16 Boys, and U18 Boys divisions, making waves from the very first whistle. Each team had to battle through three pool games before a shot at the Grand Final. After the first two rounds, all four teams were undefeated which set up perfectly for a huge Sunday showdown.
Round 3 was crunch time! Every game was tight and all four teams gave it everything they had. The U16 Boys fought hard but could not hold off a late comeback by the Bears, going down in a nail-biting overtime loss. As for our U14 Girls, U14 Boys, and U18 Boys, they all pulled off big wins to book their Grand Final spots.
The Grand Final games followed shortly after Round 3. The U14 Girls and U18 Boys left it all on the floor, narrowly missing out on the title by just three points each. But it was the U14 Boys who brought it home winning the CUP with an all time W over the Albury Cougars. Congratulations to Bastien Milicevic on winning the Finals MVP award after a massive 22-point game!
